In 1942 Yehuda arrived in Budapest, joined the activities of the movement and was engaged in preparing for the dangers Jews would be facing.
After the German invasion of Hungary on 19.3.1944, Yehuda engaged in underground activities within the framework of the movement. He left Hungary as a member of the “Hashomer Hatzair” group in the summer of 1944 on the train of the Relief and Rescue Committee.
After the liberation Yehuda returned to Czechoslovakia in order to rehabilitate the movement. He was elected president of the Zionist Organization in Czechoslovakia and represented it at the Zionist Congress in Basel in 1946.
In 1949 Yehuda made aliya and joined Kibbutz Ha’ogen. He worked in journalism. In 1960 he settled down in New York, completed his studies and was appointed Professor of Judaica.
He died of a heart attack.
